LIFE CLASSES
The following Life Classes will be held after a four week break for our
quarterly Family Celebration and a three week Pastor Series held on Wednesday
night. You will have an opportunity to sign up for these classes the first week
in April.
MYM Student Ministries
Junior High Location: FLC; Upstairs, Room 124
High School Location: FLC; Upstairs, Room 122
Our Student Ministries offers a class for both Junior High and High School
students each week. During this time, we will study the nature and aspects of
God, challenging each student in their beliefs to develop a strong foundation
for their walk with God.
Firestarters
Guinn and Joye Busbee
Location: Bldg 7
This class is designed to disciple believers for transforming our culture and
community through the manifestation of God’s supernatural presence, power and
purpose in and through our lives.
Gap Class
Delilah Gregory, Joe Finley and Wanda Lane
Location: Bldg 6
We want the Word of God to fill every GAP of your life and to stand in the GAP
for others. Come and join this lively class that shares, prays, and teaches the
principles of God’s Word.
Singles Christian Connection
Pastor Lee Wagliardo
Location: Holiday Inn Midtown
As an interdenominational class drawing from all over the Golden Triangle, we
are committed to equip people in studying God’s word through small group
discussion. This class is designed for emotional healing, reaching out to single
adults of all ages and faiths. Come and
meet men and women who have found this class to be the answer to beginning
again. We are not a dating service but a family of single adults enjoying each
other’s fellowship.

Geared toward senior adults focused on living everyday life in the joy of Lord.
Come and join us for insightful discussions with maturing Christians who love

God Views: A Journey of Discovery Part 2

One’s view of God is the most fundamental element of personal Christian
formation. To misperception of God may result in a life-time of avoiding His
presence. To see God clearly is to discover that the most powerful being in the
universe is our compassionate Father.
Old Testament Series in Daniel Part 2
Fred and Julie Patterson
Location: Bldg 2; Upstairs, Room 122
This class is an in-depth expository study of the scriptures. Daniel provides
for us an example of how to deal with the complexities of life with integrity.
It will be an interactive approach with video and discussion.
Investment 101: Harnessing Your Resources
Steve Havard
Location: Bldg 2; Upstairs, Room 220
In John 8:32 Jesus declares that “You will know the truth, and the truth will
set you free.” This statement applies to every area of our lives including
investing. This is a foundational course with a Christian perspective to
investing. The course covers the history of financial markets, understanding the
different types of insurance, investments and financial planning available
today. The course includes the how, what, when and where to invest and the risks
associated with it. We will not practice investing through this class.
Faith Lessons: On the Prophets and Kings of Israel
Church Staff
Location: Bldg 2; Downstairs, Room 211
This class explores God's faithfulness to his people in the wayward times of the
kings and prophets and how his faithfulness applies to us in our society today.
If you are looking for an expository approach, this is the class for you.
Parenting 101: Young Married Couples - Praying with your Children
Edna Earney
Location: Fireside Room
This life class for young families with preschool-aged children centers around
parenting issues. We discuss and interact with each other throughout the class,
supporting each other, finding out that we aren’t alone in the daunting world of
toddlers and preschoolers. The spring session will focus on praying scripturally
for your children, incorporating wisdom from Stormie Omartian’s book, The Power
of a Praying Parent. If you want to connect with other young families and can’t
attend our sessions, be sure to check out the monthly YMCA Life Group.
Spiritual Disciplines: The Pathway to Fellowship with God

An engaging class that focuses on encountering the classic discipline for a
transforming effect in your life. Here you will see the pathway to intimacy with
God in a thoughtful manner.
What it Means to be a Church Leader

A course designed to develop Christian discernment and a personal understanding
of your role as a leader. It includes an analysis profile to assist you as you
lead your program or group to build God's Kingdom.
God Listens: Developing a Prayer Life
Cathedral Staff
Location: Bldg 2; Upstairs, Room 221
A practical class designed to help you understand the importance of prayer in
the life of the believer. This class will help you touch the heart of God and
bring your will under His authority that you might intercede on behalf of others
and our church.
Do Opposites Really Attract? Part 2
Doug and JoAnn Vaughn
Location: Chapel
The many differences couples bring into marriage can be exciting at first, but
over time can create overwhelming conflict. A fun look at the differences
between men and women, life experiences, educational background, temperaments
and spiritual gifts. Learn to recognize the sources of conflict and how to apply
Biblical principles to your rela-tionship for harmony and healing.
Champions of Honor
Sam Moore and Mike Earney

This class is rooted in purpose, working through the process of study, leading
you to the commissioning of being a warrior for Christ. A class designed for men
building camaraderie and synergy for the work of the Kingdom.
Seven things parents need to know about their kids

Today kids are bombarded with outside influences: friends, school, media, phones
and games, just to name a few. Most of your time with them seems to begin with
waking them up, playing taxi service and saying goodnight at the end of the day.
But there is much more than just that. Let’s see what God’s word has to say for
us in today’s world to become the mom’s and dad’s he has called us to be.
Battlefield of the Mind

This class is a study on the history, expansion and mission of the Assemblies of
God throughout the world.

A personal in-depth study of God’s word designed for women focusing on lectures
and small group discussions from a non-denominational perspective. The class
provides tremendous opportunity for in-depth growth and fellowship (childcare
available upon request).

DISCOVER THE ART OF LIVING IN 2008
Be our guest at a Summer House Party! Meeting once a month, on Sunday evenings
in June, July and August. This is a great way to get to know each other on a
Sunday evening during the summer months. Strengthen relationships or make new
friends when you participate as a guest or a host home.
